When the industry was going offshore back in the seventies, Laurel, a production pattern maker who had prepared the work for and oversaw factory production, decided to write down the high-end design room skills she had learned in the industry and make them available to the world.
These procedures were developed in the USA during the first and second World Wars. They are now used throughout the global apparel industry. Her college-classroom tested step-by-step instructions and diagrams make it possible, even for novices, to draft, fit, and grade in the home, producing quality clothing with minimal equipment.
Creating Fashion with Laurel videos are televised on the local Philadelphia TV station. Her program recently won a national 2022 Hometown Media Award. Hear her story into entrepreneurship and how she is growing this unique business.
