Aunt Hetty's Golden Thimble |
This short is about the thimble Laurel wears around her neck in most episodes of the Creating Fashion with Laurel show. We put a little extra effort into the telling of this story. Laurel plays her piano in harpsicord mode. The illustrations are from two issues of Godey's Lady's Book, handed down through the family, published in 1858 and 1878. Aunt Hetty's Golden Thimble was shown at the first annual Route 22 Filmworks Film Festival in August 2023, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. |
80s + 90s House Party |
Friend and professional photographer Theresa Rivers recommended me when the CEFN (Community Enrichment Fitness Network) needed a videographer for their fundraising events. CEFN's goal is to bring the Philadelphia community together by empowering everyone to live healthier lifestyles through eating right and exercising. This is the third one. More of my CEFN work can be viewed on the CEFN YouTube channel. |
Creating Fashion with Laurel: Shopping for Fabric |
This is the episode where Laurel visits four fabric stores in Philadelphia: Gaffney Fabrics, Inc., Jack B. Fabrics, Fleishman Fabrics & Supplies, and B. Wilk Fabrics. Creating Fashion with Laurel airs weekly on the PhillyCAM channel and won a Hometown Media Award in 2023. More episodes are on Laurel's YouTube channel. |
Big Mess at the Troc |
The Trocadero was the last 19th-century Victorian theater in operation in the US and a landmark of Philadelphia’s entertainment scene when it closed in 2019. It was also home to burlesque group Big Mess Cabaret, who gave their final performance on the theater’s closing night. I was there with my camera to get just enough to make this 12-minute tribute video. |
The Plastic Club Rabbit Festival with Dreaming Thomas |
The Rabbit festival is the annual costume party and talent show at The Plastic Club. I was dubbed Rabbit Chairman by Club President Rick Wright in 2017. In my third year of organizing the event, I took my camera along and afterwards assembled this seven-minute video. |
Eat Your Peas |
This was my final project for the video editing class I took at PhillyCAM. The assignment was to make a two-minute video from provided clips, using every Adobe Premiere function we'd learned. When I showed it in class, the teacher said, 'it looks like something that would be used to brainwash bad little kids in A Clockwork Orange'. |
