The Royal Rabbit was a lot of fun on Saturday. The whole shebang went off without a hitch. No drama. No injuries. A couple of participants got into a minor fender bender on the way there, but everyone is okay and we all had a great time.
I got some exercise running up and down the stairs between introducing acts and helping Alex the Ice Cream Man navigate his truck along the narrow roads outside the club.
The drizzle let up just enough for the entertainers to enjoy free ice cream in the garden. The best part of being chairman of The Rabbit is getting to shout "free ice cream for everybody!"
The performances were teriffic. There were dramatic readings from Jessica Barber and Tracey Landmann, and outrageous acts like the Toy Band and the annual play. Rick Wright and I got some juggling in. Dick and Alice, The Meyer Children, sang a few songs to close out the talent show.
Special guest musicians, Just Roses & Friends played into the night.
I'm grateful to Rick and The Plastic Club board members for ensuring there was enough food for everyone.
Fellow Plastic Clubber, Harriet Kline was in the audience taking videos and captured my best on-stage moment, now on Facebook.
