Subtitling

This past week, I've been subtitling the first episode of Creating Fashion. I know YouTube automatically generates subtitles, but this is the more accurate, proper way to do it.

You can see from above, how Adobe Premiere aligns sections of text along the timeline. That makes it easy-ish. I still have to type it all in. It's tedious, but it's getting done faster than I thought.

When I export the video, my text will be embedded in the file. If I set it up right, when the video is uploaded, my text will override YouTube's automated text. I have ten minutes of episode 1 left to subtitle, then I'm back to working on the new stuff.

This is from the shoot we did last Saturday. Laurel has written two shorter videos (one about scarves and another one about face masks) and half of episode 2, which is about color.

I figure once we have enough of the shorter videos, I'll put them together to make an additional half-hour episode. Photo by William Hoffmann (AKA Dad).
