Philadelphia Independents 2019

A great time was had by all at the animation festival on Sunday. Chris Magee and Rusty Eveland went above and beyond in gathering animators. Bob Lee assembled a full day of animation-related workshops that brought a lot of new faces to the club. Guests were sculpting and drawing the afternoon away. It was like Summer camp.

It was a great night for strange and surreal tales, including:
That's Weird by Atesh Sakarya,
My Shoe Untied by Joe Mineer,
Psalms of Plants by Zoe Nowoslawski,
Lil Dude by Hanna Nowoslawski,
Boots Goose by Erin Duggins,
Partners by Haley Monson,
Spa Day by Nichola Latzgo,
Poolside by Maya Pirulli,
and Chris Magee brought his latest version of The Ogre & the Mermaid.

There were audio-visual feasts like:
Walking Forest and Pile by Raffaele Ganz-Pfister,
A Stack of Paper by Karl Staven,
Forest Ceremony by Hanna Nowoslawski,
and Belgian Army Ordered by King to Surrender to Nazis, 1940 by Bob Moore.

Festival regular Oona Taper returned. As did Lowell Boston, whose short recalled an incident from his youth. Cheryl Gelover and Tom Murray were back with new Tulipomania music videos Off the Map and On the Outside.

There were more shorts that aren't online, including my latest edit of The Park, which was well received. The Philadelphia Independents festival continues to be one of the most popular of The Plastic Club's annual events. It was an inspirational day all around.
