Spot the effect

The seventeenth episode of Creating Fashion with Laurel is nearly complete. We'll be delivering it to PhillyCAM this week. In the episode, Laurel has just barely enough fabric to make a pair of shorts.

I figured out while working on Episode 5 in 2021 (this old post) that as the cameraman, I can get better closeups by erasing myself later.

I'm often standing right next to the host, but you'd never know it. It's a commonly used effect and surprisingly easy to do.

When Tom Cruise jumps from one building to another, he's actually being swung from a crane. Then the crane is digitally removed.

This is how you get really good closeups.
